Oregon, 1933. At the depths of the Great Depression, war veteran Samuel Murphy sits locked inside a brutal prison labor camp — and time is running out. In one month his young daughter becomes a ward of the state, gone from him for good. Then ruthless warden Clancy makes him an offer he can't refuse: lead a handful of desperate prisoners on a gold-smuggling run across a hundred miles of unforgiving wilderness, and walk free.

But the terrain is only half the danger. Betrayal festers within his own ranks, and every desperate soul along the way is convinced that gold belongs to them.

Ethan Hawke and Russell Crowe square off for the first time on screen in director Padraic McKinley's old-school survival thriller — a Depression-era adventure in the spirit of Deliverance and The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, driven by hard choices, high stakes, and a father's will to get home.
